KREIS UNSURE

Real Salt Lake coach Jason Kreis has claimed that he does not know whether Landon Donovan and Robbie Keane will be fit for the match against them. LA Galaxy manager Bruce Arena ruled out the possibility of both these crucial players playing against Real Salt Lake, but Kreis has claimed that he doubts the fitness status of both these players. He expects both players to be in the lineup by the time the match kicks off. Kreis will have a lot of reasons to be especially worried about Robbie Keane because the former Tottenham striker has been quite brilliant against Real Salt Lake.

He joined the league back in 2011 and he has been able to score a lot of goals against Real Salt Lake. Kreis has said that need not be warned about Keane because they have seen in person the damage that can be done by the 32-year-old. Donovan has just returned from a four-month sabbatical, but he is still one of the best players in the league. Kreis has said that Real Salt Lake will be preparing for the match thinking that both Keane and Donovan will be playing. He has stressed the importance of limiting the space available to both these players in order to stop conceding goals.

“This is Bruce Arena we’re talking about. He is a good player, a very, very good player. He is one of those players that you have to always be mindful of where he is and try not to give him too much space to run at you. When he turns and can get a full head of steam running at you, that is when he is most dangerous. We will try to limit his space and limit his opportunities. I think we look forward to this challenge,” said Kreis.
